About This Page
Honoring Merle Measer

This page was created to recognize Merle Judith Measer and her life as a true artist. She created, for the sake of art, never for profit or reputation. She made art with discipline, dedication, and mastery purely because it brought her joy. She loved the process and the experience and produced artistic things because that is how she chose to use her time.
We wanted to make this website so other artist could run into her art, and be inspired by her true artistic spirit. Merle's creations are housed on the walls of a few private homes, and not in museums or galleries to share with the public. She loved sharing her paintings with people who came to visit her home, and they were always impressed by the scope and scale of the body of work she had produced in her lifetime. This website is a way for us to share her creations with the world, through the web, and hope to inspire other artis to continue to create for art sake. This website will help keep her legacy alive and provide a space for remembrance.

This page was created by Merle’s family, as a tribute to her, and as a way to share her art and legacy with the world. Her children, Joanna Kanow and David Measer, their artistic spouces Daniel Kanow and Dorothy Measer, and Merle's grandchildren: Ayla and Shai Ann Kanow and Luca and Phoebe Measer will forever be inspired by the artwork of Merle Measer and the lifetime of artwork she left behind.
Feel free to share your comments on the work of Merle Measer, tributes, remembrances, or just comments on her artwork, as this will help preserve Merle’s memory.
